Sea Watch Foundation is the leading UK cetacean research charity and a pioneer of citizen science, supporting the study and protection of whales, dolphins and porpoises<\/strong>. With a network of Regional Co-ordinators all around the country supporting volunteers and observers, sightings are recorded in Europe’s largest cetacean sightings database. The data is used by the EU, national and regional governments and other scientists and organisations to learn more about, and provide better protection for, these incredible creatures. IDW<\/strong> was established by the inspirational and much missed “Dolphin Man” Dr Horace Dobbs. The website is now part of his legacy and occasionally updated by his son, Ashley. Dolphin Spotting Boat Trips<\/strong> in New Quay, Ceredigion, Wales, are a key partner of Sea Watch Foundation and all of their trips have skilled captains and crew (and occasionally that’s me) and usually a SWF observer onboard as well. Whilst sightings can never be guaranteed this is probably the best location in the UK for regular sightings of bottlenose dolphins and the work done here ensures that they remain protected in the Cardigan Bay Special Area of Conservation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
